I know it's cliché a topic, but I'd like to declare that it really makes a difference spending some time-off from work, working out, and the usual everyday routine.
I just had a long weekend with friends at a resort away from where I work. Being detached from my laptop and in touch with nature refreshed my mind and spirit. It was not a perfect holiday (the food and service were bad, our best local resorts are better than the scenery), but we made the most out of what was presented to us. The group was full of fun people, so we were laughing and smiling most of the time, may it be a big or trivial thing before us.
The main water attraction of that resort had a long queue, so we thought of just having fun at a condotel with swimming pool. And we did, even if the water was just 3 ft deep. There was no big issue at hand, just how we respond to such things would determine the outcome of the situation.
The overall experience was not bad. What made it good is that we bonded. I'm looking forward to more vacations next year, even if the economic situation would be much worse.
I'm now back to work, but with a little more zeal than the usual. I'm a bit more eager and lucid to do my everyday tasks.
